Every now and then, this place just outdoes itself.
[Today he's bitter about it, but Cain always adapts before long.]
Check in, all of you who've still got your hands or mouths or the ability to tap Morse Code.
[PRIVATE to DEAN WINCHESTER:]
Hey. Feel like home yet?
[PRIVATE to CASSANDRA:]
You all right?
[PRIVATE to BARBARA:]
You, you especially, check in.

You 'ave to kill me a lot 'arder than that to stop me joking, sunshine.
[A beat.]
M'sorry. I really never saw that coming.

[The fact that it's not Jack's fault, that there's no revenge to be had (or any forgiveness, either) means that it all just has to sit, like a puddle of acid.]

he texted me to apologise for being an arse during the flood. around halfway through he turned Jack's back to me, and when he swung around with the gun in his hand he'd stopped being Jack at all.
I didn't see any tells, and he shot first and talked afterwards. I think he's been wearing Jack like a skin. I haven't talked to him yet but I'd bet money he was there for it all, present.
and he was stressy and weird after the flood anyway so that must have acted as camouflage.
i really need to talk to him soon, poor bastard.
Re: [private]
What makes you think he's not still lurking around in him?

Re: [private]
Not alone. Right?
[private]
[That's a yes, she'd be glad to have you there.]
Re: [private]
Let's bring him to you, then.
[It might be safer that way in any case.]

Re: [private]
I know. I'll keep an eye on him, you do the talking. I don't blame him, but I don't think that's going to matter.

and I thought I had evil alter ego problems.
Re: [private]
...Guess there's an advantage to already being my evil alterego.

You know Babs and me are doing a project on alternate Gothams?
We should go find out. For research.
Re: [private]
What's this project? Sell me on it.
[private]
Database of all the alternate Gothams. I mean, look 'ow many we've 'ad just on this boat - I'm not sure any two of you ever quite come from the same one. We thought we could use lists of who's what and who's not in them all.
I thought maybe you and me could tackle some of the fieldwork.

And those're just the worlds more or less like your version. I asked Jack if 'e'd ever 'eard of you or Cass and 'e 'adn't - but 'e does 'ave a Ra's al Ghul. And Derek's from a future where Bruce didn't 'ave all 'is kids. I want to map all the variations.
