[Private to Barbara Gordon]
We oughta do a check in, you and me.
[he's seething but managing to hide it. Kind of.]
[Private to Iris]
[This is the first time she's ever death tolled that he hasn't waited at her side for her to wake up. But he knows himself, and he knows that right now the safest thing for everyone is if he is nowhere near her.
So instead there's a message waiting for her.]
You've got a lot of fuckin' nerve doing what you did, darlin'.

[And between all that he'll be wandering, mostly hanging out at the pool, which so far has only pretty happy memories. Nothing that he has the urge to scream at or shoot; progress!
Feel free to come poke the bear.]

Date: 2015-01-20 05:32 pm (UTC)This pool, my room, and the spa are the nicest places I ever been. I can't believe it's real.
[She enters bouncily and starts stripping down to her suit. Totally planning to canonball into the deep end here.]

Date: 2015-01-22 12:22 am (UTC)Yeah, every day I feel a little better about-
[He sees what she's about to do and scrambles to at least get his electronics out of the splash zone.]

Date: 2015-01-22 12:26 am (UTC)Then she surfaces.]
About being here, you mean. Yeah, me too.
Re: [spam]
Date: 2015-01-22 12:40 am (UTC)[Fast as he is, the room isn't quite large enough that he got out of the splash completely. He's pretty soaked, but laughing.]
You thinking about being a warden when your time's up? You'd be a really good balance to all the hardasses we've got right now.

Date: 2015-01-22 12:42 am (UTC)You think I'd be good at it?

Date: 2015-01-22 12:53 am (UTC)I do have a handle on dealing with inmates. I was in another prison before this.
[Where most people disliked her. And in the short time she's been here, she's gotten into two fights, provided another inmate with alcohol against his warden's wishes, and broken into someone's room because somebody told her to.
She sees no reason to bring up any of that.]

Date: 2015-01-30 05:20 am (UTC)Yeah? What'd they lock you up for, anything that might come in handy around here?

Date: 2015-01-30 05:23 am (UTC)Like, killing someone? 'Cause that's what it was. You think I'm gonna need to kill people here?
Re: [spam]
Date: 2015-01-30 05:26 am (UTC)[Oh sure, go straight to the tough question.
He draws a slow breath in, and then nods once.]
In the wrong flood, yeah. At a bad port, yeah. When we get some asshole on board who thinks if he kills enough people he'll get sent home early, hell yeah.

Date: 2015-01-30 05:28 am (UTC)[That sounds impressively backwards.]
But it ain't true, right?
Re: [spam]
Date: 2015-02-07 06:23 am (UTC)More than one seems to have, yeah. They don't last very long around here.
And nah. No matter who you kill, you ain't getting sent home for it.

Date: 2015-02-07 06:36 am (UTC)Yeah, you know how it goes. People fucked up their lives back home, or had 'em fucked up for them, they're angry about it, got no idea what to do with all that anger.
[spam]
Date: 2015-02-07 06:37 am (UTC)Ain't much to be angry about here, as far as I can see.
Re: [spam]
Date: 2015-02-07 06:40 am (UTC)Not around here, not much. But baggage kinda carries, you know? Sometimes it creeps up. [He eyes her. A murderer is not without baggage; either she's dealt with hers (and should be a Warden), or she's buried it deep.]

Date: 2015-02-07 06:45 am (UTC)Usually that's how it works, yeah. I mean no matter where you go, you are who you are, right? But if you were pissed off at life back home, it seems like you've got it managed now, so keep doing what you're doing. Just my advice.

Date: 2015-02-07 06:50 am (UTC)[Not always, anyway.]
Re: [spam]
Date: 2015-02-07 06:55 am (UTC)Or at your parents, at a boyfriend?
[She's rough around the edges, it's highly likely that she had a tough go of it at some point.]

Re: [spam]
Date: 2015-02-08 10:55 pm (UTC)Didn't know there was such a thing. But until I got here I never had an amicable kind of relationship anyway. What happened with you and your guy?
